How to Enable BOL E-mail address from Gmail (dhaka.net)?

***Enabling Your New Mail Service***

Use your web browser to go to http://webmail.dhaka.net

Type your existing BOL username in the Username: box

Type the new password in the Password: box, then click on the Sign  in button.

Type the verification letters you see in the picture below in the  text box.

Click on the "I accept. Create my account." button to activate your  email account.

Click Yes, in the security pop-up window

Click on the Settings at the upper right corner of your browser  window.

Click on the Forwarding and POP tab,

Select "Enable POP for all mail"

Click on Save Changes button to save your settings.
   
Your mailbox is now setup for POP/SMTP use. But you will need to configure your email client (e.g. Eurdora, Outlook, Outlook Express, etc) following one of the following guidelines.

Configuring your email client: Outlook Express and Outlook 2002

Open Outlook or Outlook Express.

Click the Tools menu, and select Accounts...

Click Add and then click Mail...

Enter your name in Display name field, and click Next.

Enter your full BOL email address ( username@dhaka.net ) in Email address field, and click Next.

Enter pop.gmail.com in Incoming mail (POP3 IMAP or HTTP) server  filed Enter smtp.gmail.com  in the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server field.

Click Next.

Enter your BOL username (username @dhaka.net) in the Account name field. Enter your BOL password in the Password field, and click Next. Click Finish.

Highlight pop.gmail.com under Account, and click Properties.

Click the Advanced tab.

Check the box next to "This server requires a secure connection  (SSL)" under "Outgoing Mail (SMTP)".

Enter 465 in the Outgoing mail (SMTP)  field.

Check the box next to "This server requires a secure connection  (SSL)" under "Incoming mail (POP3)". The port will change to 995
* The order of Outgoing and Incoming mail server fields varies by version. Make sure you enter the correct information in each field.

Click the Servers tab, and check the box next to My server requires  authentication.

Click OK.
   
 
Configuring your email client: Outlook 2003

Open Outlook 2003.

Click the Tools menu, and select E-mail Accounts...

Select Add a new e-mail account, and click Next.

Choose POP3 as your server type by clicking the radio button, and click Next.

Fill in all necessary fields to include the following information:
   

User Information
Your Name: Enter your name as you would like it to appear in the From: "Your name field of outgoing messages". Email Address: Enter your full BOL email address ( username@dhaka.net )

Server Information
Incoming mail server (POP3): pop.gmail.com
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.gmail.com

Login Information
User Name: Enter your BOL username ( username@dhaka.net )
Password: Enter your email password

Click More Settings... and then click the Outgoing Server tab.

Check the box next to My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication and select Use same settings as my incoming mail server.

Click the Advanced tab, and check the box next to "This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)" under Incoming Server (POP3).

Check the box next to "This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)" under Outgoing Server (SMTP), and enter 465 in the Outgoing server (SMTP) box.

Click OK.

Click Test Account Settings... After receiving Congratulations! All tests completed successfully,  click Close.

Click Next, and then click Finish.
   
Configuring your email client: Microsoft Outlook 2007
 
1.
In the ' Tools ' menu select 'Account Settings'

Click on ' New '

Check Mark On   POP3 or IMAP , then click 'Next >'

Check Mark On   'Internet E-mail' , then click 'Next >'

Configure your " Change E-mail Settings " :-
User information :
User Name: Type your name
Email Address : Type your email password

Server Information :
Incoming mail server (POP3): pop.gmail.com
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.gmail.com

Logon Information :
User Name: Type your Email Address
Password : Type your mail send/receive password
Click the 'More Settings ' tab.

Then click the 'Outgoing Servers' tab

Check Mark On" My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication "

Click ' Advanced ' tab
Outgoing mail (SMTP) : 465
Check Mark On “This server requires secure connection (SSL)”
  Incoming mail (POP3) : 995
Check Mark On “This server requires secure connection (SSL)”
Click Ok.
 
Configuring your email client: Eudora

Open Eudora.

Click Tools > Personalities.

Right-click in the Personalities box and select New.

Follow the instructions in the New Account Wizard, using the following settings: . Account Settings: select Create a brand new email account and click

 

5.Next.
. Personality Name: Type a name and click Next.
. Personal Information: Enter your name as you would like it to appear in the >From field of your   messages. Click Next.
. Email Address: Enter your full BOL email address ( username@dhaka.net ) in the Email   Address field, and click Next. . Login Name: Enter your full    BOL email address ( username@dhaka.net ) in the Login Name field, and click Next.
. Incoming Email Server: Type pop.gmail.com in the Incoming field and click Next.
. Outgoing Email Server: enter smtp.gmail.com in the Outgoing field. Select Allow authentication and   click Next.
. Click Finish

Right-click on the personality you just created and select Properties.

Secure Sockets when Sending: In Generic Properties select Required, Alternate Port from drop  down menu.

Click Incoming Mail tab.

Secure Sockets when Receiving:  Select Required, Alternate Port from drop down menu.

Click OK.
