Modem could not detect dial tone?
1. Make sure your phone line has the dial tone. You can check it by connecting with a telephone set and then make a local phone with it. If you can make a local phone call, then your phone line is ok. Go to next step.
2. Make sure your phone line is properly connected "Line" port of the modem. If it is connected properly and the problem is still unsolved then follow the steps mentioned bellow.
3.1 Double click on "My computer"
3.2 Double click on "control panel"
3.3 Double click on "Modem Icon"
3.4 Click the General tab, and then click the modem you are using.
3.5 Click properties make sure the port listed is the one your modem is connected to.
3.6 Click on" properties", then click on connection then disable "wait for dial tone before dialing" option.
3.7 Click "OK, Click "Close". |
